Men's Silicone Rings & Silicone Wedding Bands

Men's silicone rings from botthms are 8.7 mm medical-grade silicone wedding bands made to be worn in the places a metal ring can't go: the gym, the site, the pitch, the pool. Often searched as rubber wedding bands for men, they weigh about 3 g, don't conduct electricity and are designed to tear away under a hard pull. UK sizes 7–14, £19.99, shipped from our UK warehouse by Royal Mail Tracked 48, with quick, easy size swaps if the first one isn't right.

Why men switch

The wedding band you don't take off for the gym.

A metal ring scratches, dents and catches. Most men who buy a silicone wedding band keep their metal one for weekends and wear the silicone ring everywhere else: lifting, contact sport, site work, swimming. It grips the bar instead of pinching, and if it ever snags, it is designed to tear away under a hard pull.

Silicone wedding bands for men

Keep the gold one safe. Wear this one.

A men's silicone wedding band is not a replacement for the ring you were married in. It is the one you wear when the real one would get damaged or get in the way. Order the same size as your metal ring, or half a size down if you're between sizes: silicone sits snug and stretches slightly. Black is the colour most men choose; charcoal, grey and camo are close behind.

Find your size in 60 seconds

Your ring size, from your phone.

Calibrate the screen with any bank card, then drop a ring you own on it, or use a strip of paper. No ring? We'll predict it. Wrong size? Swapping is quick and easy.

Step 1 · Calibrate. Hold a £1 coin on the screen and drag the handle until the circle matches it.

Not calibrated
23.43 mm

Step 2 · Place a ring that fits the right finger on the screen. Drag the handle until the circle sits exactly on the ring's inside edge.

— mm
  1. Cut a strip of paper about 5 mm wide.
  2. Wrap it round the base of the finger — over the knuckle if the knuckle is bigger.
  3. Mark where it overlaps, then lay it on the ruler below with the end at 0.

No ring, no paper? We'll estimate from a few things about you. Expect ±1 size, and swaps are quick and easy.

Why it matters

Why a ring that gives way is the safer ring.

A metal band is a rigid loop around the one part of you that gets caught on things. A silicone band is designed to stretch and tear away instead.

No rings

NHS and HSE guidance: jewellery below the elbow is removed for clinical hand hygiene and around moving machinery.

NHS Infection Prevention and Control: bare below the elbows; HSE PUWER guidance on entanglement.

General safety information, not medical advice. A silicone ring is not protective equipment.

Questions

Men's silicone ring questions.

Are silicone wedding bands good for men?

For anyone who trains, plays contact sport or works with their hands, yes. A silicone wedding band is light (about 3 g), comfortable, non-conductive and waterproof, and it is designed to stretch and tear away under a hard pull instead of holding your finger. Many men wear one day to day and keep their metal ring for occasions.

Rubber or silicone wedding band: what's the difference?

Most rings sold as rubber wedding bands are silicone. Silicone is softer against the skin, hypoallergenic and doesn't perish in sun, sweat or chlorine the way natural rubber does. Our rings are medical-grade silicone.

What size silicone ring should a man get?

Men's botthms rings come in UK sizes 7–14 and are 8.7 mm wide. Match the inside diameter of a ring you already wear on our ring size guide, or measure with a strip of paper. If you land between two sizes, go down: silicone fits snug.

Can I wear a silicone ring to the gym?

That's what it's made for. It grips the bar rather than pinching, survives chalk and sweat, and you rinse it with soap and water. If it catches on equipment, it is designed to tear away under a hard pull.

Can electricians wear a silicone ring?

Silicone does not conduct electricity, which is why many trades choose it over metal. It is not personal protective equipment and doesn't replace your employer's rules, so check your site policy.

How long does a men's silicone ring last?

Silicone is a soft material and wears over time, faster with heavy gym or site use, so at £19.99 a spare is sensible. If a ring is faulty, email us — your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply.

How fast is UK delivery?
